On 8 November 2023, the Government published draft regulations to amend the Working Time Regulations 1998. The amendments we cover in this podcast are;
- the creation of two new categories of workers (irregular-hour workers and part-year workers);
- the ‘reintroduction’ of the 12.07% accrual calculation for holiday entitlement for workers in those two categories; and
- lawful rolled-up holiday pay.
This is key legislation for employers who engage workers on any irregular contracts, especially following the Harpur v Brazel case in 2022.
