As part of the ongoing celebrations throughout the year, Anthony Collins Solicitors along with other clinical negligence specialists in the region, held a birthday bash at Zen Metro Bar on 11 May 2017. We celebrated with AvMA, as well as with the real individuals who matter – our clients who, through no fault of their own, suffered a medical accident that left them to then cope with a life changing event, both on a physical and emotional level.
Throughout its 35-year history, AvMA has tirelessly campaigned for patient safety and justice, and has supported many individuals who have been unfortunate enough to have suffered as a result of clinical negligence.
During the evening, we heard from Peter Walsh, CEO of AvMA, who provided a brief history of the organisation and how he intended to drive AvMA forward, in order to ensure patient safety was at the top of the government agenda. Individuals who had experienced clinical negligence first hand also told their stories and Dr Ron Daniels, CEO of The UK Sepsis Trust, also gave a short speech regarding the role of charities in supporting people who suffer a life-changing illness, such as sepsis.
Rankeshwar Batta, head of the clinical negligence and personal injury department at Anthony Collins Solicitors, was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening and is pictured above with two previous clients: Lisa Richards-Everton and Paul Betts, who told their moving stories on the night.
Rankeshwar commented, “We have had a long-standing relationship with AvMA for many years and long may it continue! I am delighted to celebrate with them tonight, on their 35th birthday! Hearing the moving stories from our clients underlines why specialist clinical negligence solicitors are needed to support people who have suffered a medical accident. We, at Anthony Collins Solicitors, look forward to supporting AvMA with ongoing projects relating to patient safety and justice in the future.”
