Anthony Collins Solicitors (ACS) has been named Law Firm of the Year: The Independents at last night’s (2 November 2021) The Lawyer Awards.
The Lawyer Awards is the largest celebration of legal excellence in Europe, setting the industry standard for benchmarking the best teams and best practice in innovation in the legal sector.
Every year the awards ceremony brings together private practice lawyers, senior corporate counsel, legal operations professionals, leading barristers, and chambers management teams.
Anthony Collins Solicitors was up against five other UK leading independent law firms in the Independents category. Its award submission highlighted the firm-wide Covid-19 response – advising those who provided frontline services to the vulnerable and disadvantaged in communities across the country.
The firm supported Care England, the leading representative body for care providers, throughout the year with legal counsel, advising on its negotiations with the Government on pandemic guidance and PPE measures.
“In the social housing sector, Anthony Collins Solicitors provided a Covid-19 response service to 12 housing clients with a combined turnover of £1.1bn, providing services to 400,000 people and acted on one of the first ESG funding deals in the sector.”
Peter Hubbard, senior partner at Anthony Collins Solicitors, said
“The Lawyer is one of the UK’s leading legal publications. Winning independent law firm of the year is a massive achievement for our team, who go above and beyond for our clients.
The judges recognised the importance of our social purpose and the impact of our work in improving the fabric of society through our clients.
In our mission to improve lives, communities and society – we aim to use this win to set an example of how social purpose law firms can lead the way in the legal sector.”
