Law firm Anthony Collins (AC) has announced the appointment of new partner Julia Robertson to lead their charging team.
Julia has over 13 years of experience in real estate finance, with a diverse range of clients, including many high-profile national housing associations as well as national and challenger banks. She has worked alongside numerous borrowers across the country engaged in secured finance transactions, including bond issues, traditional funding and debt restructuring. Julia joins AC from Trowers & Hamlins and previously worked in-house at Metropolitan HT (now Metropolitan Thames Valley HA).
Julia said: “Anthony Collins has earned recognition for its market-leading status for social housing and property work for housing associations and I am delighted to be joining such an active team. I am thrilled to be joining a group of dedicated individuals who share a commitment to improve lives for the better.
“Being able to utilise my previous experience in a new role and with new clients while building on those skills is an exciting challenge for me. Helping clients achieve their commercial and social goals by raising finance for new affordable housing and improving their existing affordable housing while upholding the social purpose values of Anthony Collins is something I’m keen to engage with.”
In her new role, Julia brings extensive knowledge and experience to the housing sector team and will extend out the work of the charging team across the housing association client base.
Julia joins AC just six weeks after Social Housing magazine, in their annual professionals’ league table, ranked Anthony Collins in the top three legal advisors nationally for both housing association borrowers and institutional investors based on 2023 disclosed deals.
Jonathan Cox, housing sector lead at Anthony Collins, added: “We are delighted to have recruited such an experienced head of charging as Julia who is one of the best charging lawyers in the country. Julia will materially strengthen our multi-disciplinary and market-leading offering to housing associations.”
AC issued its fifth social impact report this year, which showed that 94% of the firm’s work has a direct positive social impact on its clients and wider society.
