The Social Housing Regulation Bill is approaching its final approval by Parliament and will then become law. It will have huge and far-reaching implications for the social housing sector in England and how it is regulated. The size and complexity of the Bill, coupled with the large number of amendments it has been subjected to as it has passed through the Parliamentary process has made it difficult to keep track of.
Understanding the Bill when it becomes law is critical to legal and regulatory compliance. In this session, our governance experts Victoria Jardine and Catherine Simpson will walk you through its principal parts focussing on how this will change the status quo when we expect the changes to come into effect and what you need to do now to prepare for them. Attendees will have the opportunity to share their own experiences of preparing for change, and to pick up tips and good practice from one another in this crucial area.
Who should attend?
This session is aimed primarily at company secretaries, heads of governance and heads of legal for registered providers in England (to which the new law will apply) but it may also be of interest to registered social landlords in Wales.
