The week was founded by Remember a Charity, a group of 190 charitable organisations whose mission it is to encourage the public to leave a gift to charity in their will.
So, what is the need for such a campaign? A report published in January 2017 found that while 35% of people said they would leave a legacy to a charity in their will after ensuring their loved ones were looked after, only 7% actually do so.
It is important to keep your will under regular review to ensure it accurately reflects your wishes; this should be at least every five years or if you have a change in circumstance. Anthony Collins Solicitors has an award-winning team of private client lawyers who can advise you in relation to your will. Whether you want to prepare a will for the first time or review an existing will, please contact a member of the team on 0121 214 3642 or email us to discuss it further.
