Calling all school governors, trustees, PTA members, kids’ club leaders, parents…
The UK Sepsis Trust have produced free school resources about sepsis, which are available to download here.
These resources aim to educate school children and encourage them to share their learning with friends and family, so we can all protect each other from sepsis.
Sepsis affects 25,000 children every year. In total, it affects more than 250,000 adults and children in the UK every year. It is a life-threatening condition in which the body’s response to an infection causes damage to tissues and organs, resulting in life-changing after-effects. However, with early diagnosis and treatment, people can make a full recovery.
Anthony Collins Solicitors have partnered with The UK Sepsis Trust to help spread the word, raise awareness and improve patient safety. We work with families who have been affected by sepsis and have seen the devastating effects a negligent delay in sepsis diagnosis and treatment can cause.
The resources, developed in collaboration with PSHE Association include:
- Sepsis lesson plan and activities
- Teacher resources
- Introduction video by TV’s paediatrician and UK Sepsis Trust ambassador Dr Ranj Singh
- Animated video – Sam’s Monkey (voiced by actor Warwick Davis) that explains what sepsis is and why it’s important to know the signs
