Aspire secured funding from the Cabinet Office to enable them to become an employee-owned CIC taking a transfer of services for children aged 14 plus and adults with complex needs and learning disabilities.
Aspire provides a range of services including, short breaks, day centres and intermediate care.
What was our role?
We worked in partnership with Stepping Out to provide the full range of legal, financial and business planning support. We worked closely with the council’s internal legal team, so that wherever possible a collaborative approach could be taken on preparing and finalising the required legal documentation. The project required input from a number of departments including governance and commercial, employment and built environment. As a result, Aspire: for Intelligent Care and Support CIC launched on 1 June 2015.
How did we add value?
We provided a range of support beyond the initial Cabinet Office requirements and tried to support the new management team as they ventured into their new organisation. We worked collaboratively with the council’s internal teams and helped to arrive at solutions when it became apparent that not all of the documentation would be concluded for the “go-live” date.
