- Follows being voted ‘Law Firm of the Year’ at the Birmingham Law Society Legal Awards
- Expansion set to continue after announcing plans to open an office in Manchester
Birmingham-based national law firm, Anthony Collins Solicitors, today (4 July) announces a record-breaking financial year – with revenue up 17.4% to reach £19.5million and profits up 32% to £5.3million.
This news rounds off an award-winning period for the social purpose firm, after taking home three accolades at the 2018 Birmingham Law Society Legal Awards, including the prestigious ‘Law Firm of the Year’, as well as both Private Client and Business Teams of the Year. The firm has also expanded its operations by 30 staff, taking its total workforce to 287, including 29 partners.
Commenting on the firm’s successes, Peter Hubbard, Senior Partner at Anthony Collins Solicitors, said:
“These extremely positive financial results are a direct consequence of the hard work of all those at Anthony Collins Solicitors. From charities to education, private individuals to housing; our teams of sector specialists are driven by our commitment to improve not only individuals’ lives but also communities and wider society.
“We are privileged to work with clients nationally who share our purpose of building a stronger society and the more we explain why we are in business together, the more clients we attract who have a similar outlook.
“A strategic focus on the local government sector has come to fruition, with highlights including appointment to the EM Lawshare consortium and advising the West Midlands Housing Association Partnership on increasing housing investment in the region.”
A leading factor in the firm’s ongoing success is its significant wins in 2017/18, which alongside appointment to EM Lawshare – the UK’s largest public sector legal consortium, included leading London Housing Association L&Q, the Methodist Church Legal Framework and The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT).
Further ambition sees Anthony Collins Solicitors also announce plans to open a second office in Manchester this year.
The new offices are primarily aimed at attracting lawyers working in the North West who want to work for a social purpose law firm but will also help the firm service a number of existing and new clients in the region. These include local authorities using the North West Legal Services Panel, the Co-operatives sector and numerous North-West-based housing associations such as Riverside Group and Trafford HT.
Peter Hubbard added:
“Our success so far has provided us with great foundations to build from, and we see this expansion into the North West as an important step in securing our position as the leading UK social purpose law firm. Having a second office will provide us with an opportunity to recruit more talented people who share our passion for change as we continue to grow, both financially and in terms of our social impact.”
