They are a fantastic charity, passionate about what they do and thoroughly dedicated to improving the lives of their residents. Throughout the year our trainees have organised various fundraising activities to raise as much money as possible, and we are delighted to have raised over £3,250 to be put towards organising social events and days out for the residents to help them on their road to recovery.
Fundraising activities amongst our staff have included:
- Holding a ‘Question of Sport’ style quiz
- Various samosa sales throughout the year
- Organising an ACS Sports Day for colleagues to compete against each other
- Organising our own Christmas Market with a photo booth and festive challenges
- Printing Christmas cards for The Bridge, using a design created by one of their residents
- Holding a ‘Christmas Gift’ tombola
- Taking part in an Ackers Activity Day with residents from The Bridge
- Victoria Fullilove, Richard Brooks, Damian Ward, Kiri Whitehouse, Eve Downer, Dominic Curran, Ann Houghton, Matthew Wort and Vicky Sewley ran the Birmingham Half Marathon.
After a year of fundraising we were also invited to attend The Bridge’s ‘Supporters Lunch’ where a number of our trainees got to hear about some of the fantastic work that the charity has done throughout the year and listened to a stories from residents on how the charity had helped to transform their lives. Finally, we organised our own ‘End of Year’ lunch for staff and residents of The Bridge, as an opportunity for our trainees to meet more of the residents and to announce how much money we had managed to raise for them and how we had done it.
If you would like any further information about the work that The Bridge does, please visit their website.
