Health & social care

Health and social care providers face a complex array of challenges – from delivering the highest quality services within the constraints of a financially difficult climate, to increasing scrutiny from regulators. Providers have never needed more specialist support in order to drive compliance and positive customer experiences.

To thrive, the voice of care providers, and those supported by the sector, must be championed, and backed by a deep understanding of the legislative and societal changes that impact the individuals and organisations that make this sector special, yet so complex.

As a strategic partner to many of the sector’s representative bodies including Homecare Association, the National Care Forum, Care England and Learning Disability England, we have the sector understanding and proficiency required to deliver practical, first-class legal services, while ensuring our support is as easily accessible as possible.

Our approach

With decades of experience and a national influence, our approach is both proactive and reactive. We move quickly to manage urgent challenges – whether its changes to the CQC’s assessment regime, HSE compliance, Ofsted inspections or not being paid sufficiently well by public sector commissioners.  – We ground our advice  thorough our understanding of the industry’s enduring ongoing challenges.

Ranging from governance, employment and commercial property advice, to corporate and commercial transactions and handling regulatory issues, we have the depth of knowledge to help your organisation negotiate any challenge or opportunity regardless of size or complexity.

Our team is greatly experienced in managing change, resolving disputes, advising on TUPE and National Minimum Wage issues, as well as supporting with employment tribunals. We also have a team of corporate lawyers whose knowledge of the sector helps care providers to get the best possible deal when carrying out a merger, acquisition or disposal; raising funds or sourcing investment, or going through a management buy-in or out. Our health and social care property experts can also lead on construction contracts, leasehold developments and property disputes whilst our commercial team ensures contracts are set up to protect your interest and our disputes team are ready to challenge whenever legal obligations are not complied with.
